OpenShift Administrator
OpenShift Administrator is a post-sales position that will support OCP cluster operations and DevOps processes for Silex Data Solutions clients. Engineer will assist and mentor existing operations team to maintain cluster health and will work with developers to deploy containerized applications from source code. This is a full-time role, and this resource will be dedicated to one or more clients.
- Prior Experience Administering and Deploying:
- OpenShift UPI and IPI 4.x clusters
- OpenShift Container Storage (OCS)
- Expert-level Experience with:
- Configuration of network policies, management of software defined networking, and ingress cluster traffic (utilizing OpenShift Route, Kubernetes Ingress, and/or NodePort where applicable)
- Controlling Pod scheduling / behavior and limiting / requesting cluster resources
- Build strategies for containerizing applications in OpenShift
- Customizing Source-to-Image builds and creation of custom builder images where necessary
- OpenShift Project / Kubernetes Namespace creation, role-based access control, and management
- Container image publishing, management of image registries, and version control strategies via GitOps
- Deployment and administration of OpenShift in an AWS environment
- Leveraging Ansible to automate cluster operations/deployments
- Log management & monitoring using Splunk, fluentd, HEC, etc. in an OpenShift environment
- Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and previous experience working as a Solutions Architect in an enterprise IT environment
- Ability to assist the sales teams w/ pre-sales activities, project scoping, RFI/RFP responses, and helping to deliver the “technical win” for Red Hat/OpenShift services opportunities
- Working with developers for pipeline deployments
- Performing OpenShift upgrades as needed
- Maintaining the health & optimal state for OpenShift clusters
- Monitoring OpenShift cluster health and troubleshooting issues
- Configuration of Identity Providers and application of permissions using RBAC
- Configuration of application security with Secrets and Security Context Constraints
- Architecting OpenShift as needed to meet application requirements (compute, storage, networking, and operations)
- Certifications:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration required
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Development is preferred

Pay Range and Featured Benefits
This range is provided by Silex Data Solutions. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
$110,000/yr – $150,000/yr
